About Velso
I'm Senne Bels, a freelance developer based in Belgium. I've been running my own freelance practice for a few years through my company Okapi Works, working with clients across Belgium on web and mobile products.
A while back I started tracking my time properly. The result was uncomfortable: a big chunk of every week wasn't client work at all. It was intake emails, contract follow-ups, invoice formatting, status updates, and scope arguments. None of it is billable. All of it takes time.
I couldn't find a single tool that handled it as one thing. Most options were either too broad (full agency suites) or too narrow (just invoicing, or just contracts). So I built Velso — a focused ops layer for solo freelancers who want to automate the admin and get back to the actual work.
Velso handles intake, contracts, milestones, invoicing, scope checks, and client status emails. You share a link. The client fills out a form. Everything else runs without you touching it.
It's early. If you try it and something feels off, I genuinely want to hear it.
